The Christmas Poem

Jesus Christ                                                                                                                                                               -poem by Deial Johnson

Long time ago, there was a man of God,
who prophesied about the coming of the Lord.

The people rejoiced and were happy ever as can be,
On hearing the lord is coming down himself to set them all free.

Years passed without a sign but only a hope in their hearts,                  That he will never forget them or ever leave them apart.

Then came the time after many many years,

The time to rejoice always and wipe each other’s tears.

Far in the town of Bethlehem a baby boy was born

He was Christ the messiah, who was yet to be known.

The angels told the shepherd who soon came running

To see Jesus, the son of God whose lovely face was radiating.

They saw baby Jesus, lying in the manger

For there was no room for this heavenly holy messenger.

The three kings arrived after a journey from far away,

They said, “a new star has appeared and has brought us this way”.

But King Herod was unhappy with Jesus Christ as the new king,

His heart was gradually burning with a jealousy thing.

He ordered to kill Jesus, and did everything possible

To get rid of this new king so that his throne would be stable.

But Jesus was saved and saved for a purpose,

Which was to redeem everyone and die for his people.

Thirty three and a half years Jesus slogged teaching and telling

Of the wonderful place -heaven, which we would be soon owning.

But a few took it, and followed his teachings

While others mocked at him and thought he was crazy.

Then once for all Jesus died for us on the cross and shed his blood for us,

And rose again on the third day and today is among us.

Just as he came two thousand years before, he will soon come again,
Then the world will end and be no more and Christ alone will reign.
